i was wondering if anyone knew if early CR (76-81) had any run-through agreements with other RR. I know Southern and B&M power would run-through to Philly somethimes but were there any others. PC or EL had one with SP did it carry over?
Conrail ran run thru’s with Santa Fe, from Elkhart, Indiana thru Streator, Il. I am not sure the destination of the train, probably either Kansas City or Galesburg. Those trains were symboled ELSF (Elkhart - Santa Fe).

The D&H had run through trains over Conrail to Potomac Yard in Washington, DC to about 1990. (Give or take a few years - I’m not quite sure)
Penn Central and CR had a long-standing Columbus, OH to Atlanta, GA run-through set up with Southern. I believe the symbols were COSR/117 southbound and 116/SRCO northbound.
Southbound, traffic was generally blocked for Chattanooga and Atlanta. Northbound changed quite a bit over the years, but usually had a separate block for Detroit-area traffic.
At some point in the 1980’s, another run-through was set up between the former L&N Osborne Yard in Louisville, KY and Buckeye Yard in Columbus. I suppose this was set up whenever DeCoursey Yard in the Cincinnati area was deactivated - when CR was first formed, a solid train ran between Buckeye and DeCoursey at least once a day.
