Creating, Posting and Editing Images

I have a thread that has required working with images, not only posting but also editing.

This software is phenomenal. It puts the old, archaic, Kalmbach software to shame.

Thank you, Firecrown.

Can you post videos and if so, can you direct me to where it tells us how to do it?

I think you can drag-and-drop a video into a reply, but I can’t do that on my phone.

The only video I have is a Quicktime Movie, which is a file type that can’t be uploaded. However, I did learn how to upload a video:

The video must have an acceptable extension.

Start your reply, then click on the “image” button in the lower right, which will bring up a menu of places to find the video on your machine. Choose the right option, and go from there.

On my iPhone, the options are “Photo Library,” “Take a Photo or Video,” and “Choose Files.”

If someone from Firecrown is reading this, could .MOV be added to the acceptable extensions?

I started a thread on this issue on January 15th (scroll down to find it) and never got an answer. I updated the thread a few times to get a response but nothing.

I also started another thread on January 15th asking for permission to post Kalmbach/Firecrown photos from the magazines. I finally got a response by PM’ng Nick.

I don’t think that management reads this particular forum which is unfortunate. What is it there for?

.mov and other video formats are enabled. You’ll still be limited by size, so if your file is too large, consider uploading the video to YouTube, then sharing it in the post. Place the YouTube url on a single line and it will be embedded like this:

I’m still getting a “wrong file type” error when I try to upload my file, Test.MOV :frowning:

Try now, please.

The file type is recognised, but the upload seems to stall at 1%.

I wonder if the data settings on my iPhone are wrong. I will try again.

Try a very small file.

First I will try an image:

That worked. Now an eleven-second video, which stalled.

Ok; the eleven-second video is 12MB. I don’t have a smaller one to test with.

But at least .mov is recognised; thank you for that.

Trying a linked video

I can see the video if I click on the link.

Thanks.

Apparently, imgur links don’t work the same way YouTube links work. Good to know.

Nice module by the way!

I agree, but it’s not mine: I shot the video at a train show, to share with family. It just happened to be the only germane video I have.
