A few pics showing one of my loco’s crossing a series of bridges:
The first three pics were taken over the river cut-off bridge. The bridge was scratch-built using Micro Engineering plate girders.
This next pic shows a pair of Warren Truss bridges. The bridge was kit-bashed from two Campbell Scale Models. The support timbers were scratched built using Northeastern Scale lumber. The wood was weathered with a mix of alcohol and india ink.
This last pic shows a wood truss bridge. The bridge was built following a project article featured in “Bridges & Buildings for Model Railroads.”
Once again there is no beating your modeling!!! You have outstanding layout. that layout is better than good. [bow] Your bridges look really nice!![bow][;)]
Bob wonderful art great job. pcarrell when you reffered to King Post Bridge did you mean the last pic? Again wonderful art Bob love your site and your layout.
Seeing work like yours, and knowing that it can be done, is a major source of inspiration. Your king post truss reminds me of one I saw a long time ago in Japan and have always intended to model.
Great pictures. I find myself studying your pics details looking for hidden or nonobvious elements. Its always a treat when I find one of your pics posted.

Bob, do you handlay the track on your trestles or is it purchased and then detailed, I’m looking for advice in this area currenly, also what do you use to stain the timbers.
Man, your pics make me drool… as a beginner, I am in awe. Great work! Keep up the inspiring tricks! I loved that random stone bridge pier… who makes it? Gorgeous!
