crossings

Is there a way to build crossings from scratch? I have a double track with 2-30 degree crossings, but I need less, like maybe 26-28. Is there something like a kit or can you get parts and assemble or am I trying something not possible. Any help would sure be appreciated. Thanks in advance…

You can buy rail and build your own. If you are within a couple degrees of 30, I would suggest tweaking the track plan to fit in 30’s. Much easier.

crossovers are really hard to build because you’ll have to cut slots where the tracks cross so that you don’t make shorts and then some pretty fancy wiring has to be installed…if you are bent on building them, there is a diagram on how to wire them in Linn Wescott’s book: “How to Wire your Model Railroad”
like Dave said…you’re better off moving the track plan and purchasing commercial crossovers…(atlas makes one that is 19 degrees)…then trying to scratch build them…Chuck
