I have a 90 degree crossover that I would like to modify so that each of the two legs is electrically isolated from the other. Then I can have two control blocks that cross over it. Has anybody done that? How?[8D]
Yup, and it’s fairly easy. All you do is flip it over, and cut the connection on two legs across from each other, then solder in a new jumper.
The “crossover” is one example of Lionel’s eccentric practice of getting very simple prototype things wrong unnecessarily, which is not the same to my mind as simplifying the prototype for practical reasons, which they did very well. Of course, they should have called it a “crossing”. Other examples are calling color-light signals “target” signals and then putting the lights in backwards order.
Elliot, Thanx for the sugg about rewiring the bottom. I’ll flip it over and give a try. Stu
