My layout has a double crossover between 2 ovals,i’m using peco insulfrog turnouts and would like some info on wiring the crossover.I’m also using dcc.Any help would be appreciated, thanks
With the Peco insulfrog turnouts, there is nothing you need to do.
I’ve installed several crossovers on my neighbors layout using Peco insulfrog turnouts. They are totally DCC friendly.
The insulfrog turnouts don’t need to be isolated at the frogs, just solder the joints and run trains.
The only consideration would be if your using them in a reversing loop, then standard rules apply.
You didn’t mention the scale of your layout. One note: The N scale Pecos are sensitive to heat when soldering the diverging rails at the frog. Don’t linger with the iron any longer than necessary.
By double crossover do you mean this?
If so, it is electrofrog and it needs special (but not too complicated) wiring. I have no idea how to do it myself, but below is a link to a very nice website that will tell you everything you need to know. The peco double crossover is basically 4 electrofrog turnouts connected by an electrically live crossing. You can find how to wire both the turnouts and the crossing on this site.
