Does anyone know who the yard in Crystal Falls, MI serviced? Was it a joint yard for the CNW /MILW? Was it just a MILW Yard? or was it a frieght yard that handled only the Iron Ore mines nearby?
Any info would be greatly helpful, thank you.

I’m not sure if this answers your question, but I believe it was once serviced by SOO Line railroad.

Both the MILW and the C&NW served Crystal Falls. Each railroad had a yard(parallel to each other on the east side of town), At some point the joint ore operation combined the operation. There should be some good USGS maps on MSRMAPS(old Terraserver web site).
