CSX completes annual safety and maintenance blitz on former Clinchfield route

An impressive amount of work in a very short period of time. It probably takes the other 51 weeks of the year to plan it, to coordinate the arrival of workers and materiel on a JIT basis.

The former Clinchfield route terminates in Spartanburg, SC, not Greenwood, SC

CSX should expand there efforts throughout their system. They have a reputation, right or wrong , for deferred maintenance.

To add a little to Mr. Stoddard’s comment, the railroad from Spartanburg to Greenwood isn’t the Blue Ridge Sub–it’s the Spartanburg Sub. (There was a TRAINS article about the Spartanburg Sub some years back.)
