Why?
The President seems to attract the blame for everything that goes wrong and seldom any credit for the things that go right. It must be sad to view things in such a ditzy manner.

The Republican “talking point” is that there is a War on Coal being waged by the Obama Administration. The fact is, coal usage is down because hydraulic fracking has made natural gas so cheap that coal can’t compete.
The way I interpret the news article it sounds to me that the comment she made is Melanie Cost’s personal opinion and not necessarily the fact.
V.P. Gary Sease is quoted and seems to be giving an entirely different explanation to the reason for the layoffs.
Does everything that happens always have to have a political slant to it? CALM DOWN your political “feathers” people!!
