CSX GP40-2

Hi,

I have a CSX GP40-2 but I see one a prototype picture the missing ditch ligths.

Who makes the ditchh ligths as a detailing part in HO?

Cheers, Christian!

Christian,

Try the search feature on the Walthers site and I use Details West a lot of times.

http://www.detailswest.com/ I’m not certain they have that type with the angled mounting bracket, but I’ve seen it somewhere before. You can also get a ditch light housing and mount it on brass or plastic sheet stock which you can cut to size with the angles.

Custom Finishing makes a set in White metal, I added them to a couple units & they look good.

Thanks,

Here is how they look on an unfinished model…

Here are Custom Finishing # 294 CP/CSX style Frog, Bracketed Ditch Lights. Although they can work as a brace between the pilot Stanchion bars, they are sometimes misplaced/misaligned like on this one. These had their buckets reamed ‘a bit larger’ for a future lens. The model is not finished in this photo.
For my Lights I have 3 different sizes of ‘Dremel’ style ball burrs, that allow me to hand twist & polish the bucket area of the lights, whether plastic or white metal, they let me clean it up, so I can put in a lens of some sort, or in the case of white metal castings like these, make it shiny! (I drilled these for LED’s, there is a small hole in the bucket)!
