I don’t see your answer here, Joe.

I got an HO model of one of those cars. Looks good.

The Grain Express program refers to the loading and unloading time that the customer is permitted (and receives the specified financial incentives), not the transit time.

The shortline railroad that I worked for in central NC received 65 car grain unit trains under this program, but the transit time might range anywhere from a 3 days to a week or more. The nice thing is that we got to use the CSXT run-thru locomotives (although wee had to add our own RR’s locos too because of the mountainous terrain of our line).

About half of the unit trains were all private freight cars (ADMX, CRDX, PFMX, UELX, etc.) while the other half of them were all"system" CSXT freight cars (CO, CSXT, NYC). Unfortunately, I never saw any CSXT grain cars with the “Grain Express” paint scheme… I guess we were not quite that special [:)].

For those that have not seen this paint scheme, here is a sample:

Joe, that was the last grain train I loaded and the ADBF. We get them from IORY and have 3 days to load and interchange the train (usually 65 cars). With the new ethonal plant coming online soon you will see ALOT more in Hamler (maybe even green and yellow lighting stripes, hint hint).

thanks for the info. matt and i will be looking,
