CSX Gulf Coast Relocation Funds Deleted from Appropriations Bill

"WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Senate on Thursday easily passed a $94.5 billion compromise emergency bill to fund the Iraq and Afghanistan wars and rebuild after last summer’s hurricanes, sending it to President George W. Bush.

“Bowing to a Bush veto threat, the compromise bill had $14.4 billion less in funds than the legislation originally passed by the Senate. Negotiators dumped many projects, including about $3.5 billion in disaster aid for farmers outside the hurricane area, the relocation of a Mississippi railroad and some funds for veterans.”

Dave

I’m really glad they axed the porkbarrel to CSX, by why do I suspect that there were numerous other issues hidden within that would make me angry if I knew what was fully going on?

This whole krappe where our elected officials “tack on” completely unrelated provisions to priority legislation should be completley forbidden.

“Black bag” legislation is all it amounts to. [:(!][:(!][:(!][:(!][:(!]

“of the people , by the people , and for the people” MY FOOT! more like “to the people, at the people, and on the people” if you ask me

I am also glad they got rid of that pork barrel spending. I also would probably be disgusted to hear about the pet projects that DID make it through the process.
