I took some video of the Maintanance of Way equipment in Worcester, MA when I was there today. I thought some of you might like to see it. Does anyone know what the machines in it are doing? I would guess they are spikers, but I don’t know.
Very interesting footage… I notice that some of it was shot from the Union Station platform looking under the highway overpass into the CSX yard…I used to enjoy occasionally going up to Worcester to take pictures from the same location…I haven’t been up there since summer 2001 and I was wondering if the station is still a photographer friendly location? Thanks in advance for any advice…
It is very railfan friendly. I’ve been there several times and have never been bothered by anyone; railroad police, or otherwise. It is a safe place too, with security cameras and such. I reccomend it highly.[tup]
