I see that CSX has spun its Marquette line north of Grand Rapids off. That line is an old friend of mine. When I clerked my second year of law school in Grand Rapids, Michigan, I lived in an appartment right next to the line that is now spun off. It was a very predictable line. Every day there would be a freight in each direction with three GP38/40s with 40-60 cars. On the weekend there would be a 108-car grain train. In addition there was a local that went out several times a day in Grand Rapids. I really hope this line can do well.
With all of these railroads being spun off, it is an exciting time to be a fan.
