CSX NY3.

On CSX’s new paint scheme. What does the “NY” stand for? Allan.

Actually, I think it’s YN3. YN stands for yellow nose.

Theres also Bright and Dark Furture Shemes

YN3 is the “Dark Future” scheme, and BC is the “Bright Future” scheme. There is also a “BC2” scheme, which, is virtually the same as BC, but has yellow “CSX” lettering. This scheme was only used on the now-downgraded AC6000CW’s.

Matt

Dont Forget Stealh Shemes

Dark Furture Example

Just wanted to Post this 4 fun

“Bright future” is YN2, and “dark future” is YN3…

However, those (DF and BF) are just railfan names and not official CSX terms…

Okay, if BF is YN2, where does this leave “BC2?”

?

What is “BC2” now??? Geez.

Which one has the “swoosh”?[:-,]

uuuuugggghhhh[:p] unit 7509 is rolling around here in nw ohio. although they did put a yellow nose on it.
stay safe
Joe

The Nike one???

According to my memory I believe the “swoosh” scheme is BNSF’s latest and greatest scheme also called Heritage III, with the BNSF “swooch” logo.

CSX doesn’t have a “swoosh” logo, not to the best of my knowledge.
