CSX Q090 Ohio And Model Railroader Boxcar

This is not my video. Take credit for Rich who did this.

I have one question. What time does CSX Q090 the UP Reefer Train come through on Tuesday’s through Greenwich Ohio and Berea Ohio, is it around 4 PM?

I saw that Model Railroader Boxcar myself in North East PA, August 1st, 2009. Look at my profile picture and you can see it. That’s my picture I took.

Thanks for catching it in Williard, Rich.

Here’s the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTOaLdOdSwk&feature=channel_page Not my video. Take credit for Rich, he takes the best videos I have seen in awhile.

Not sure if we can set a definite time on that. Not only does UP have to get it to CSX.It also has to get through the Defiance and North Baltimore work zones.I did catch a q 90 at Deleware Bend yesterday on the way to sherwood.

stay safe

Q090 is ‘scheduled’ out of Chicago at 1400, is scheduled to pass Berea at 0100 the following day.

Your times and days may vary.

Hello,

Whenever I catch the Q090 reefer train on the CSX Greenwich Subdivision, it seems to be in the early to mid afternoon. Lately, I’ve caught it in the Greenwich to Wellington vicinity around 4 or 5pm. It used to operate Monday’s only, but I am unsure of the schedule now. I know for a fact that they changed it. The same for Q091.

But anyways, if you’re at Berea on a day that you happen to know it is passing through, I’d expect it to show up around 5pm, give or take a little. Thanks for the compliments on my videos, by the way!

I just missed Q091 going Westbound on Track 1 of the CSX yesterday Thursday 8/13/09 at about 11:33AM. Read my post that I just posted about Railfanning in Berea yesterday Thursday 8/13/09. There you’ll read everything about the day from 11:35AM till 2:12PM.

Q090, what day of the week are you talking about, is that a Tuesday?

Usually on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday.

Since I started this subject last year I’ll start it again today. I see this morning from looking on Railpictures.net that Q090 the UP Reefer Train came through Collinwood Yard in Cleveland Ohio - http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=326460&nseq=0 This is not my picture. My question is, since Q090 came through this morning, What day would it come back through Ohio between Conneaut and Mentor on Q091 so I could get to see it? The reason why I ask this question is, is because I have only seen the tale end of this train once back in August of 2009 in Berea Ohio and I would really love to see this train again, but only this time in it’s entirity. I would also bring my video camera along, so people could see it, if I caught it. I don’t know if I am able to go, but I would try to go and see it go by.

As has been identified in this thread, there is a schedule. The train has 2K mile of running to get to the point where the CSX part of the schedule begins. While there is the schedule, carriers endeavor to ‘make up time’ whenever possible on their schedules so as to build a cushion to provide ‘On Time’ or better service. Freight train schedules are a framework for the carriers operations, not a absolute schedule.

Your times may vary.

I really can’t comment on the return trip (Q091), because I don’t know if CSX sends the cars back as soon as they’re unloaded (and a crew ordered, etc.,) or whether they wait until a specific date and time to release the train for its westbound trip.

This week’s first Q090 was probably one of the longest ones ever–84 cars. It also was much later than usual. UP got the train to Barr Yard at fairly close to its schedule time (not more than one or two hours early) this week. Usually it’s anywhere from 12 to 24 hours early, and Sunday’s the day you’ll find it in Ohio. The second train (usually much shorter) is roughly two days behind the first.
