CSX taking delievery of ES44ACs.

CSX has recieved some of the first ES44AC locomotives of a 125 unit order. They were supposed to be trading in 75 SD40-2s on the order but I don’t know if CSX has done that yet. All 125 are due by the end of Q1 in 2008. Can’t wait to see if these are going to slowly replace the AC4400CW on coal trains or if they are going to be in charge of hot intermodel or possibly both.

Here is a picture of #704. I hope CSX adds the lightning bolts under the number on the cab.

Oh happy joy…more CSX widecab GE’s! Add me to the list of those whose camera will remain in the bag while these go by. Now if they looked like the ones in the pic link below, I’d have a reason to waste $3/gallon gas to photograph them!

It ain’t CN. I’d pay $6/gallon to see them!

It’s too bad CSX will more than likely never do any heritage units. Imagine the possibilities. Those would look sharp in the Seaboard System scheme.

They basically are heritage units. Just stick the B&O Capitol Dome on the nose, and there you go.

These CSX GE Evolution Series units might show up on a CN train someday.

Some years ago, many rail photographers ignored those ugly Diesels and took only steam pics.

Many early models were missed.Don’t let this happen again please.

maybe more like C&O? And all this time, I thought the L&N guys were running the show down there…

How about some in ACL purple?
