I SAW THAT LOCO. # 7672, LESS THAN A MONTH AGO!!! COOL YET BAD!!!
…
How in the world did the driver manage to get the truck on the track. I mean it said the truck was disabled but, wow, couldn’t he have drove the thing into the ditch??
That’s unfortunate.
James
Disabled would mean he wouldnt be able to move it…
That is too bad. He may not have had the time to get the rig clear.
All trucks have the ability to use the lowest gear on just the starter motor alone to get off the track. I doubt that in today’s age of automatic transmissions if it is still true. But in my day if I was stalled, put it on low gear and stand on the starter motor and get that thing off the crossing batteries be ***ed.
Did you see the one in the latest Trains magazine where a NSRR train hit a NSRR truck left on the tracks by a NSRR worker?
yeah, it was titled " A tough lesson on where not to park".
Here’s a pic of BNSF 4801 this engine is most likely not going to see the rails again. After seeing this what does the other 2 look like?

They may rebuild the 4801 they rebuilt 157 a few years ago when all that was left of it was the frame and the cab.
