I have seen CSX using NYC painted engines heading eastbound & locals on the chicago main line where i live. Has anybody else seen NYC engines where you live? By the way i’m not taking about conrail.
Just prior to and since the NS/CSX purchase of Conrail, I have seen some NYC/PRR/EL markings on Locos and rolling stock (Ohio and eastward)-just some small letters/numbers not livery-I guess it was some source accounting for the division of assets of Conrail and predecessor RRs.
Seen hundreds of CSX units in recent months and not one lettered “NYC”. Lots of NYC ex-CR cars, however.
ive seen nyc stenciled on former conrail equipment and cars running on csx.
stay safe

If you mean actually given a full New York Central paintjob no I can’t say I have. The most NYC I’ve seen on any CSX locos are restenciled Conrail units.
Keep in mind that there’s a difference between the NYC stenciled on ex-Conrail locomotives and the New York Central. Conrail was effectively partitioned into two operating companies, called PRR and NYC, which ‘owned’ the assets legally until recently.
I’ve been waiting for the ‘heritage unit’ incentive at UP to make its way over to NS or CSX – unfortunately, NS has a ‘lock’ on both Tuscan and white/black/gray paint (excluding the ‘Confederate gray’ stealth scheme CSX tried a while ago).
I do NOT consider primer gray an acceptable background for lightning stripe… ;-}
Ive heard rumors that they have a D&H Engine in MA Though… I Dont know about a NYC one though.
