Here’s an idea…We could include the Chessie (which is the WM-BO-CO, BTW) and the other small roads, by calling it…CSX…

The other name that could be reasonable and make sense would be CONRAIL {Consolidated Railroads} [swg]… Then, you would have (WM-BO-CO-BTW) all together as one.[:-^]

If CSX were named Conrail, wouldn’t Conrail Shared Assets have to be renamed? - a.s.
You got a good question but I don’t have the answer. [banghead] I know Conrail still runs on a small capacity in NJ. (Ports)
Bring back the “Family Lines”!
Here in the South bring back the ACL/SAL or SCL for the Eastern Seabord & the L&N for the Western lines. For Clinchfield fans, do the numberboards in yellow.
How about the Chesapeake and Seaboard Railroad? Chessie System for short.

The best way to combine Chessie and Family Lines is to call it “The Family Cat”.
It sounds like everybody is seeking a conglomerated answer to a specific question about a replacement name.
Why not The Great Eastern and Southern (GES) …oops to geographical
Or We run Everywhere (WRE) …sorry to trite
Then there is North, South and Eastern (NSE)…a bit to obvious
Or perhaps The Great Atlantic, Chesapeake, Seaboard Ohio and Central Pennsylvania, Clinchfield, Louisville and Nashville (GACSO&CPCL&N) …Try saying it
But if you are looking at mergers, Union Pacific and the guys in Jacksonville might come up with something original like The Union Pacific and Atlantic Railway (UP&A)
OR combine the other initialed Railroad as BSNF&CSX
Or maybe the idea of perhaps a whole new name would be a better idea,
LIKE …The Great Atlantic, Gulf and Eastern Railway (GAGER)
Just in fun for now, but you never know when a train is coming, or for that matter when the next change to the face of railroading is on you.

Kitty am good, but I hated how they splattered text all over the cab. Engine number only, we dopn’t need the extra parts emblazoned. A heritage fleet is a must, but CSX has made amost as much a niche as C&O did.
Nah, replace it with Chessie System Xpanded. Anything else becomes confusing.
No Arguement where you stand, I personally like the slogan
AB&C rules the system (Southeastern side of CSX that is).
Merge with BNSF and become the Burlington System [:D]
