CSX Woodland and C E & I subdivisions getting complete overhaul .....

Howdy foks, [C):-)]

Here on the Ex L&N current CSX, between Woodland Junction and Evansville, IN there are track curfews out. The line is getting a complete overhaul with several diamonds being replaced as well as many switches and crossings are getting redone. And much of the rail is also being replaced. The MOW crews are also adding a few new industry tracks, like one down in Farmersburg, IN. It makes it tough to run trains, which I love because I make overtime!!! But, if you want to see every piece of MOW equipment CSX has, make your way towards Terre Haute and further South, or around Danville, that’s where most of the heavy work has been happening. Maybe we’ll be able to run trains at track speed once again!

Harry Ladd’s atlas shows this as a “Category 7” line, the highest category. Are they running trains in fleets around the maintenance shutdown times?

Saw their equipment last year when they were working up here.see if the have the winnebago on rails(an rdc track inspection car).happy hunting

JoeKoh,

I saw the winnebago on rails just the week before the curfew started; must have been the harbinger of the curfew.

MP57313,

Yes, trains are called starting about 1600 and trains are run very tightly together. Of course the Intermodals get let out of the gates first, then comes the regular freights. They’re taking a break this weekend and the starting up again about Monday at 0800. This weekend looks like a busy time here, already have 15 trains planned between now and tomorrow morning.
