Can’t help myself: Awwwww…he’s so cute! [8D]
I don’t see how the pup could have survived the bump the finder describes. A miracle the wee beastie is still alive!

The bump the track inspector described, I believe, was before the dog–the nearly dog-gone dog was not ran over.
By the way, I do not envy that track inspectors. Someone will rightly point out that I don’t know a healthy looking rail tie from one that is not, but they do not look too healthy from my vantage point–plus it was on CSX . . .

A true miracle. He is so sweet. I like the name too. [tup]
Thanks for sharing the story. I’ll pass it on to others.
Nah, ties are ok, as long as the tie plates and spikes hold the gauge.
Looks like a switching or industry tracks, bet the speed limit is what we call “restricted” speed via rule 6.28 in the GCOR.
What a great story! About time for a good news event, as opposed to yet another bad one…
And that thing is cute!

There are good people out there!!
And then there are some people who are NOT so good. Here in South Dakota, in mid-December, a couple found a cat that had been glued to I-90, all four of it’s paws, and it’s nose had been glued to the highway. This couple rescued the cat, took it to a local animal shelter, but it died several days later. While I don’t particularly like cats myself, I hope the authorities will eventually find the individual who did this, because the same individual would probably harm someone’s dog as well.
With all the depressing news on the wires these days, it’s really great to read some truly good news! Thanks for sharing the story.
