Appreciate the CTA news but FECI holds non-stop public meetings on its brand new passenger line All Aboard Florida which will greatly change transit options there and no one from TRAINS is covering it!! How can you not be all over this one!
Probably because CTA sent out a press release and FECI didn’t, or hasn’t yet. Does anybody really believe that TRAINS or any similar publication sends out reporters to “cover” stories?
@BATES - Well, they ought to - at least, they ought to be monitoring other sources of news other than Press Releases. I agree it does feel like that though.
I wasn’t aware, for example, that North East Florida is in the process of setting up a commuter rail program that will include St Augustine (birthplace of the FEC!) and Jacksonville until one of the Twitter feeds I follow (@RailMag) posted some articles yesterday and today. That’s a fairly significant development. Florida, home of rail scorge Rick Scott, and it’s bursting at the seams with passenger rail projects… woohoo.
It feels a little strange, therefore, not to see much coverage of that kind of thing from Trains, which… well, sometimes when I read it I get the impression there are only two types of passenger train: those that run on the NEC, and Dinner Trains run by non-profit heritage train groups…
