CTT Back issues

I subscribed to Classic Toy Trains from the beginning of it’s publication, and kept all the issues until they got wet in an unfortunate incident. Recently I picked up a couple of binders of the magazine. It turned out that one out of three binders had also been wet, so after a quick look-though, out they went too.

There is a wealth of information in those old magazines. Has anybody put Classic Toy Trains on CD or DVD? I’d like to have a set of back-issues,

To my knowledge there is no digital or electronic version of CTT back issues yet. Hopefully, the fellow who did the OGRR back issues will get Kalmbach interested in it.

I am surprised that nobody else has expressed an interest in a digial collection of CTT back issues. I guess that explains why one hasn’t been made… no demand.

When I was looking through the damaged back issues I found a lot of interesting information. For example, by reading some old reviews I learned:

the Amtrack GG-1 was the last one to have the orginal style two piece frame.

The 18119 Union Pacific alco does not have a mechanical e-unit. There was something about the matching passenger car’s trucks too.

And it is always interesting to read old advertisements

I agree and would be purchasing an electronic version of the CTT back issues if they became available. Do the editorial staff of CTT have any thoughts on this issue? OGRR has their back issues available, done by an independent contractor, who presumably accepts the financial risk.
