I am looking for a longer curved bridge 22-24 inch radius. Are any kits available? I would appreciate any leads. I would prefer steel rather than stone.
I was looking at the Atlas Pony Truss bridge as a possible donor for a kit bash if nothing is available ready to build.
I had the same question few months back. There really isn’t anything other than banding together a couple of short double wide straight truss bridge sections.
I’ve seen RR museum in PA take a microengineering city truss kit and span it around a curve this way.
Also, you may want to get in touch with uk guy (maybe email him) he has what looks to be a scratch built curved trestle bridge. I looked at his railimage site and he has done a Great job on his layout!!! [tup]
If you go to page 4 he has some construction photo’s of it too. Here it is.
Here is a thread from this forum that he replied, I think I first say his work in a thread about makeing waves in water, but found this one first.
Good Luck, let us know what you find, I have a grade that I need to figure out what to use because I have absolutely no clearance, it looks like it will have to be some sort of retaining wall type thing.
Most truss bridges are made up of several straight sections with one side of each section cut a little shorter to make the curve. The rails form the curve on these straight sections. That’s the way it’s done prototypicaly (so I’m told). Made one for our club layout and it worked out very well. Seems to me there were instructions in the bridge kit that showed how to do this.

Micro Engineering’s Steel viaduct can easily be built/ kitbashed to any curve (within reason). The directions supplied show how to build the curve, template layout and constuction techniques to achieve your goal. ME kits are superior in design, and quality of the styrene. They do take some patience to get a nice outcome. The directions have to be the most concise of any kit I have ever built.

I face the same issue, and after a lot of research have come to the conclusion that I’m going to be scratchbuilding a couple bridges… Have yet to find a viable solution RTR, and not happy with how kitbashed ones I’ve seen have worked out – so far, they’ve all looked like what they are: straight bridges fudged around to make a curve…
