Is there a manufactured curved turnout where the outside radius is 30 in?
Check Walthers.com. Alternatively, you can roll your own or use a kit.
Yes, I believe one of the Walthers ones has a 30" radius.
Walthers has outside with 28" and 32", but no 30. I didn’t check Peco.

shinohara makes an HO code 100 turnout that is a 36" to 32" radius…I believe their other curved turnout is a 22" to 18" …it will work if you use flex track and can fudge it to fit your radius…I sue one of each and they work pretty good…chuck

Has anyone heard if Peco (code 83) has started producing curved turnouts and/or slip switches? I am waiting for these before beginning my next project.

I just ordered and recievd a bunch of Walthers / Shinohara Code 83 curved turnouts. Peco doesn’t make any yet.
The Walthers are VERY hard to find, of any size or type, as their being gobbled up as quickly as their made.
The Walters #7.5 curved turnout is 32" radius outside curve, 28" radius inside curve. I ended up buying three of them and cost me about $24 US each.
I didin’t find anybody else that made curved turnouts in Code 83.

In answer to Chateau Richer I model HO, currently building a free-lanced based on PRR in south central Penna. Layout room is 16’ x 22’. Layout is around the walls with a 5’ x 8’ pennisula on both short sides. L-girder bench work is done and about 1/3 of sub-roadbed is laid.
Handlaying a curved turnout, even from a template, doesn’t sound like a terribly rewarding experience, at least for me.
I guess I’ll use one of Walthers 32/28’s and fudge the curve. At least it is on a curve where you view the inside so it won’t be so noticeable.
In answer to Cablebridge, apparently Peco will not be producing Code 83 curved turnouts this year. At least that is the information provided on their website.
The German firm Tillig has a code 83 turnout with outside radius of 778 mm ( not: 30 inches is 762 mm). They also have easy to assemble kits where you define the radius yourself.
