Custom Finishing Detail Parts

Does anyone know if Custom Finishing is still in business. None of the hobby shops local or online seem to be able to get any new stock.

The last time I looked, Walthers was listing their parts. Owner and parts maker Bob Rzasa passed away a few years ago, and the family seemed to be continuing the business. I had a kit with parts missing last year and my dealer was able to get the replacements for me.

Which new stock? CF produces parts in batches, some parts more often than others. Caboose Hobbies, for one, carries CF parts as they become available; http://www.rrtrains.com will supply whatever Walthers lists as in-stock. One can monitor current availability and tentative date of receipt of CF products at Walthers’ CF parts pages.

Specifically I am looking for 247-112 ground lights. They have been listed as out of stock and back ordered for quite a while.

A good majority of their stuff is listed as in stock at Walthers with some items listed as “due Feb. 08” so they must still be producing.

Ouch. I’d guess that, with the bracket, it’s not that popular an item.

For a stand-in, have you considered Details West 235-172, without the pin, attached to a piece of styrene or brass angle? Or is the stepped housing critical for your prototype?

Also check with Detail Associates. they have a lot of stuff just like details west only plastic instead of the white metal…chuck

I have been buying Custom Finishing parts and trucks from Walthers on a reqular basis. Just back order it an be patient, someday you will be pleasantly surprised by a package at your door.
