Custom Painted a Loco and Some Rolling Stock

I finally decided to paint and decal some equipment for my Cherokee Foothills Railroad. The CFRR is based on the concept of a bridge line running from Gaffney, SC to Westminster, SC. It roughly parallels South Carolina Route 11, the Cherokee Foothills Scenic Byway, hence the name. The line allows Through traffic between Charlotte and Atlanta to bi-pass Greenville and Spartanburg. The line also serves several online industries At any rate I decided the railroad could use some rolling stock of its own. Not wanting to mess up anything expensive, I bought some cheapie trainset cars off eBay for a few bucks and some cheapies from the local hobby shop. Here’s the results:

A Covered hopper car with roadname, number and “Indian Head” logo:

A Hi Cube Box Car:

The paint didn’t cover all that well so I really went to town weathering it.

An ex-SP gondola, I’m sure we’ll find some use for it:

Another Ex-SP Gon, no room for and Indian Head so I just put on the reporting mark:

And My Road’s First Locomotive, A Spectrum 70-Tonner:

This engine will hold down the fort on a small branch line from Westminster of Long Creek.

Just Sharing.

Your rolling stock needs weight, etc data on its sides

For future reference you can buy them with the data and no road name if desired then just add your logos

Thanks for the tip. My printer simply won’t print text small enough so it looks lijke another trip to the hobby shop (not that complaining about that).
