Cutting WS risers to accept turnouts

I am using WS risers in areas on my layout. I will be installing turnouts in some sections on the risers. Has anyone done this, any tips on cutting the risers where they will join at the turnout?

It’s really fairly easy. You don’t need continuously attached riser under every inch of track.

Center the risers under each diverging section of track and butt them up as close as they will go. Cut a small piece of riser (cut at the short, outside joints rather than the long lateral sections). Usually two of the lateral pieces will be enough to shore up the short section between the two main riser pieces. Yes, this smaller piece will stick out to the side. You can trim it if you want to, but it’s not essential, since you’ll be covering it with scenery anyway.
