(2004 Kenworth T2000 with trailer pulls up outside diner)
Evening all…
Just got back from three weeks out on the road, roaming mostly in the south, spending a lot of time in Mississippi and Georgia, hauling paper, Gators, glass, beer, and building supplies. Today was a 500-mile day, ran from Janesville, WI to the Menards distribution center in Eau Claire, swapped trailers, and made a store delivery in Johnson Creek before coming to Burlington for a few days rest.
Will talk more tomorrow, really tired from being woke up at 3am this morning…
Millie shares the garage with a Big Boy[;)][;)][;)] [Before somebody else says it: Mookie has Driver and Millie was getting kinda lonely[:O]]
ps - Lurch came home with a big OW-EEE today. Got attacked by a Grease Monkey in the shop. Back bumper is toast. The mothership is gonna have fun with this Tuesday morning after the coffee hits.
Lance, thanks for making the coffee and fixing the juice this morning! And Mutt, thanks for making breakfast this morning. You did extremely well on the eggs and waffles!! (And Mutt’s right: I have been very busy/occupied this morning. Getting everything together and beginning preparations for the LABOR DAY COOKOUT for our Diner patrons, and any guests who come by tomorrow.)
For our SUNDAY DINNER, I have fixed country fried steak, steak fries, mashed taters w/milk gravy, green beans, broccoli, brussels sprouts, creamed corn, biscuits, cornbread and crescent rolls. We also have cantaloupe and watermelon, chocolate cake, white cake w/red, white and blue icings, and apple, cherry and peach cobblers.
Randy, glad you got a chance to stop in last night. Just be careful out on the road, o.k? And come back as often as you can!!
Enjoy your Sunday Dinner and have a great afternoon!!
At the moment, the back end of Lurch looks almost as ugly as the front end. I don’t know if Fix Or Repair Daily even has started spare parts into the distribution network yet.
The only thing damaged/injured beyond “Lurch” is the shop manager’s pride. I did kid him about not being able to shove the whole piece of crap over a very high cliff . He now hates the truck almost as much as I do.
Thanks, CW, I get in as often as I can, but I really need to consider buying a laptop computer to take with me on the road so I can stay in touch better. Truck is parked untill Tuesday morning, then back out on the road for two to three weeks again, can’t stay out too much longer or too much mail piles up at the house.
Mudchicken, Kenworth is not too much better off right now, have heard reports of the new T660s with Cat motors catching on fire because the new emissions equipment is burning the underside of the cab and sleeper floor. We drivers do not like that particular model anyway, there is no interior room, especially for some of us that are fairly large.
MC sorry to hear about your luck.the best trucks wear bowties.anyway we made it to G+G house.we are being summoned for supper.heads up chicago there is a nice warbonnet(bnsf 100) coming your way on a grain train.
_as long as the bed is empty those are fine - Put 'em to work and the you have a horse of a totally different color as our competition discovered. (New Chevy K-2500’s showing up over there after a really bad experience with the big riceburners)
