d.p.m. module wall system

hello all,
i was just looking into “design preservation models” wall modules.
and was wondering if anyone out there has used this system for kitbashing any buildings? any problems? likes? or dislikes?
they say they measure 2.75 inches in width.
but what are the heights of the modules?
thanks
glenn

oh yeah forgot to mention for ho scale for the measurment
thx

I have used DPM several times since its release I have made and kitbashed several structures. As far as dislikes I cant really say that i have any. I love the stuff. If you are going to build something with DPM use a 90 degree gluing jig, my first DPM building had 90 degree plus corners other than that its great stuff

thx jhoff310
how tall are the modules ?
and what scale do you use them for ?
thx

DPM HO townhouse backdrop buildings are about 4 3/4 inches high. I make side walls of varying depths (about 1/4 to 1inch) and add front shrubs/gardens/sidewalks/fences, etc and in between the houses as well. By painting the same kit of 3 building faces differently, they look individual. Anyway, an urban street might have two house the same in realtime. They are good value I believe and you could do the same with any of their kits by using both front and back sides as a lateral backdrop facade. don

If you are thinking of using the individual sets of wall pieces, or even one of the big ‘collections of pieces’, go to your LHS. They should have a small package from DPM that has a set of templates (drawings) of each of their wall sections (I think it was $0.25 when I got mine). You can copy the sheet, cut out the sections that look like what you want, and use rubber cement to glue them to thin cardstock (manilla folders work great) to mock up the wall sections. With a little care, you not only have a ‘plan’ for the finished building, but a mock-up to use for placement til you get the final one done.

Even better, you can download and print the planning kit for free from the DPM web site. http://www.dpmkits.com
