Dallas Area Rapid Transit Orange Line opening July 30
I’m glad to see that Texas is doing something right. But, I thought that everything was big in Texas? Only 90 miles to start? I was expecting 900 miles!
When a best friend of mine moved to Dallas almost 30 years ago, they had no rail at all except for a once-a-day Amtrak train. Also, the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex is now the fourth largest metro in the nation by population. Waht a significant change for the better! but it’s till far short of what is actually needed there. My friend now has direct service to the airport jst a short walk outside his door now.
DART has to extend further North on the 75. Terminus at Parker is way short of needed service. Plenty more growth coming, too!
