has anyone had any good or bad experiences dealing with Dan’s in florida? i want to purchase an item or two, but it always seems there is some “problem” or repair issue with the stuff he gets in. thanks for any input on this, hopefully good. thanks, mike.
I recently won an ebay item from Dan’s. I actually telephoned them as I had a question regarding payment. The rep I spoke with was friendly and answered all of my questions. I received my Proto 2000 locomotive in just 3 days. I plan on buying from Dan’s in the future.
Dan’s always had a good reputation, since in the past this was a “brick & mortar” store. A few years ago Dan saw the writing on the wall, made the tough decision to close the LHS (which did saddened a lot of us Florida folks) and became an ebay web dealer. So far it’s proven to be a smart move as he has been a"success story. He is also known for being a brass loco dealer as well.

I’ve bought several items from Dan’s over the years, as he always seems to have those hard to find items.
I had excellent service, good deals, and no complaints whatsoever.
I would not hesitate to buy from him again.

I have been to his brick and mortar store about 2005 and have since made several purchases from him and all have been handled well and professionally.
Now keep in mind that he buys estate sales and used brass, but from what I have witnessed things are really checked over before sales and correct information is listed on the auction site.
Dealing with Dan, in my opinion, is a safe bet.

I’ve purchsed items from Dan’s on several occasions. I’ve found his eBay listings to be very comprehensive and exact in describing both what the item is and the condition it’s in. I ha dno issues and my items were promptly shipped. Read the descriptions carefully - since he does buy consignments some things may not be in perfect conditon, but he will state as much in the listing.

I like Dan’s brass and any problem of the many items I have purchased have been listed. He sells mostly used brass and they are as listed as least in my purchases.

I have bought a number of items from “Dans” and have had only good experiences, Reasonable shipping costs and items are well packed to protect from damage.
One purchase was a BLI steamer, it was noted that the original box was missing but the item would be carefully packed for shipping. When the package arrived I found that a cardboard box complete with foam inserts had been made for the engine. I was impressed with the care that obviously went into the packing of the engine.
I would gladly recommend his shop to anyone,
I always browse his online E-Bay store as he often has hard to find items.

In January 2010 I bought a custom NS C40-9 kitbash he did… Model very nicely done, shipping was very quick, and I was very pleased overall…
I’ve only bought once from him. However I’ve only good things to say about Dan’s, and I would buy again.
I’m another satisfied customer, and would have no hesitation about buying from Dan again. My experience with him has been excellent.
