Dash 8s or 9s...any new ones due for us N scalers?

Hiyas all. I model NS (and, to a lesser extent, CSX) in N scale, and was wondering if anyone had heard anything about C39-8s or C40-9Ws (or C44-9Ws) as possible upcoming releases? Kato did a run of Dash 9s a while back, which are now INSANELY expensive on eBay, and the only 6 axle -8s out there are from Spectrum (that i am aware of anyways)…and i would rather just avoid them. Any one know if we might be getting any of these soon? hard to believe with so many -9s roaming our rails, no one is making them in N atm. And dare i hope…maybe ES44DCs? Thanks, Azure

While i am on the subject…anyone know if a hi nose SD-40-2 was ever produced, or maybe where i can find a guide to convert a standard one in N scale? thanks again!

It doesn’t look like anyone besides Bachmann is doing 8-40CWs in N right now, but maybe Atlas will come out with one later. They’ve already made one in HO, so why not N?

I don’t see anyone making 9-44CWs either, but Kato is still making an AC4400CW in N, which is basically a DASH 9 with an AC box. There’s always the possibility that Athearn will make one in N, since they’ve been making one in HO for over 10 years, and all their N scale engines (except the 2-8-0) have also been done in HO.[:D]
