Hi, I love the magazine! This is my first post here, Hello to everyone.
I really enjoyed the data sheet for the SD70M in the October issue. I was wondering if an data sheet was in plan for the SD90/43MAC and/or the SD90MAC-H? These are my favourite engines! Have these been done? Are they in the works?
And also, have you done an issue or are planning on doing a special about Railgrinding trains? They have always intrigued me, I’m fascinated by any and all MOW stuff.
And finally, I have a suggestion for a Railfan Guide. Somewhere in Southern Ontario, Specifically on the CPR Galt Sub, or on the CN Dundas Sub. I have railfanned both, living in a city which both travel through (Woodstock) and the CN Dundas route is great! Tons of freight anf Via. The Galt sub is not as populated, but I really enjoy it, as it is practically my backyard.
Sorry about all the questions! [:o)] Hope to see your magazine on the rack for a long time to come!
P.S. I saw an ad in a recent mag about RR Atlases. I have e-mailed the maker, and apperently it does not show yards or sidings in detail. I’m trying to find a detailed map of the subs around Woodstock ON. I need siding lenghts, and showing detailed trackplans of the yards. If anyone could hook me up with such, I’d very much appreciate it!
Welcome, nice to see another Canuck. You have come to the right place to get your questions answered, (although I can’t help with your current ones) the members on this forum are a wealth of information.
Welcome to the forums; we’re glad you enjoy the magazine.
Thanks for the story/data sheet ideas. (At least one of your suggestions already is being tossed about as a possible future story. No, I can’t tell you which one.[;)])
Those are some nice photos you have on your Web site. My favorite was the “in-your-face” shot of the 2816. It would give someone who’s never been that close to an engine’s nose some idea of the perspective you get standing there. Very cool.
And FireDragon, never, ever apologize for asking questions. It’s the only way any of us learn anything, and the folks that hang out on our forum are more than happy to share from the wealth of their knowledge.
Take care, and keep reading, posting questions, and throwing out ideas.
I just hit your website, really cool. You have mow pics of MOW equipment than I have seen anywhere[:)] You don’t see pics like those anymow[:)][:D] You know what I say about great rail pics, “the mow the better”[:)][:D][:D] Holy mowley, those are good pics[:D][:D][:D][:D]
Thanks for the comments!
Thats great news Kathi about the possible story…maybe all of them eventually
I really liked your pics, Joe, of the Trackmobile Helpers! They aren’t very common anymore. Most of the mills that really used to use them have switched to a permanent inthe ground winch to pull the cars in.
Oh brother, and Mookie said I was bad. You either had not enough coffee or to much coffee. OR you have the crazy sense of humor that I have. [:p] [:D] [;)]
I read you post last night before bed. Now looking at it gave me an idea. What if the railroads painted some engines like that. Either the railroad crossing accidents would go way up or way down. Not sure which. I do bet that a bunch of drunks would go on the wagon. lol
