So how do we get such a bumper sticker?

Would be neat if all the major Class 1 railroads were partial or full sponsors. It would open up the hobby to another segment of the population & also convey the message of crossing safety to a new generation.

Great Idea. CSX should sponsor a whole car, like the US Army or Lowes to get their message out.

Great idea, hopefully this will lead the way for more sponsorship. Remember, they’ve got to test the water, if this sponsorship is positive then they’ll invest more, and if not they’ll stop. Patience!!

You can never alway beat a train!

Must be a Train themed Daytona.
And singing the National Anthem this year?
The lead singer of the group Train!

Maybe they are trying to get one of Amtrak’s Silvers to start stopping in town?

As far as testing the water goes. Amtrak should sponsor a car as well.

Win, lose, or draw, when a motorist tries to beat a train to a level crossing, the train always wins.

Get Union Pacific involved, since Regan Smith, and Furniture Row Racing are based out of Denver, and the only team west of the Mississippi.

Halleluia!!!
For forty years I’ve watched Nascar wanna-bees use our public highways as an unofficial race track! I,ve seen a few of them pay the ultimate price. I made my living out there, and before you get your back up, remember that total strangers never came up to your desk and tried to knock your chair over or yell at you for being in their private playground.
So three cheers for Mr. Smith and CSX. Both of them know the real meaning of “SAFETY FIRST”.

Good for CSX. My passions are NASCAR and railroads in general. Unfortunately, we had a very bad derailment here in Canada yesterday, about 200 miles from me.

What is a mistry to me is , how come three engineers died and only broken bones etc., in the car behind them? The pictures of the engine only show moderage damage.

Tonnage always has priority - Nothing much bigger than a multi-ton locomotive, in this country, with a mile long manifest to ruin your whole forever. AND, it only takes one wet leaf to drop a full dress Harley into the ditch, on a lovely spring day. It’s all relative.

Great idea! As I type this, the race is about to restart for the last 40 laps after an explosive freak accident. Seems like I heard Regan Smith’s name mentioned earlier.

I think Sean Fielding and James Simms are onto something. There’s a lot about trains that could appeal to a NASCAR fan–big machines, lots of noise, grit, that feeling of raw power at work. Granted, trains won’t appeal to everybody at the track, and some people have already discovered both, but I bet there are plenty of others who just never thought of trains as a hobby who might pick it up if they started seeing race cars in NS black or CSX blue. (Racing is surely a natural match for the Thoroughbred logo, in particular.)

“We can stop every single one of those accidents and make them go away.”

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Yeah, RIGHT! There are MANY stupid people in the world, Mr. Smith. Not all of them will watch you and most of them will eventually find their way to a grade crossing in conflict with a train. No matter how much you try to make stopping for trains “cool” these accidents are going to continue to happen as long as there are highways and grade crossings.

Smith finished 24th.

It’s still a step in the right direction.
