DC and sound installation

Hi all,

In HO scale, I was wondering if an E-8a Proto DC unit has all the compaRtments (holes if

needed in the underframe) already their for a speaker. Is the only thing missing the DCC decoder,

the sound decoder and the speaker?

Not unless Walthers has redesigned them after they purchased the Proto 2000 product line from LifeLike.

All the sound installs I perform include a speaker facing downwards through the rear trucks. there is plenty of space for the sound to escape.
