DCC accessory decoder and MRC sound system?

Has anyone ever interfaced a DCC accessory decoder to an MRC sound system? I ask because I’m a tightwad and don’t want to buy sound decoders, but also because I’d sort of relish the technical challenge of making a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.

On a less primitive scale, does a stationary DCC sound system exist? I’m thinking of a sound decoder I could play though a stereo instead of inside a model. Add the decoder to the engine consist and run as usual for sound.

You cna hook a regualr DCC sound decoder up to an amplifier and then consist that decoder with the loco you are running, that’s probably a better way to get (somewhat) synchronized sound.

SHows how to do it.

Try SurroundTraxx. It’s expensive though, and you’d be better off getting a sound decoder for your engines.
