DCC in 1986 Rivarossi Heisler.....

I’m installing an Econami into an older Heisler, bought in 85/86. After some time I managed to get her apart, do some cutting out some of the metal boiler inside to fit the Decoder. There’ll be room order the water tank at rear for the TDS Super speaker… …really tiny…but the lighting is a bit “wonky” to figure out how to include…the original setup has a series of flat ‘pickups’ for lack of a better description, that really has 2 flat bars for each… One with a hole in it the size of the outer brass socket, and another below , I assume isolated by plastic, that only touches the bottoms of the bulb …kinda like a flashlight bulb bottom. Here’s a like to what the looks like…http://www.ebay.com/itm/P-160-034-BIG-BOY-RENO-AND-GENOA-LIGHT-BULB-14VDC-BY-AHM-RIVAROSSI-PART-NEW-/111678805899. I am making sure that they’ll be isolated from the main metal chassis. Does anyone have thoughts about how to proceed. I’m not " bulb savvy" at all, so I’d appreciate ant guidance.

Gidday Mike, this is not my area of expertise, (actually I’m not sure if I have one) but as you’re about to disappear off the page I’ll bump this.
However just to confuse the issue, with the trouble you’re going to, how about using an LED?
Here are some past threads…
