DCC in Sierra 2-6-6-2

Has any one successfully put DCC in the old PFM Sierra 2-6-6-2? It will determine if I go DCC in that the new pike is built arround this classic engine…

No, but I have a big DCC layout and have converted about 50 diesels, and have an old Sierra 2-6-6-2 that I’m definitely planning to convert. It shouldn’t be at all hard. I’ve read that isolating the one brush from the frame isn’t that hard. The only reason I haven’t done it yet is that I’m fussing with those micro LED’s from www.Ngineering.com to use in the headlights before doing the engine conversion.

What I really wanted to tell you is that no matter how hard it is, it will be totally worth it to convert to DCC. The pleasure to stress ratio is so much better now when running trains. I can just give people throttles, and they all run trains around wherever they please, and the sound units work, and the turnout controllers work, and it’s just a way better way to run a railroad.

Thanks. I have not done a conversion. What aditional can you tell me so the sierra runs when I’m done. There are some who say its not worth the effort. Are you willing to email with me as I try?
