Hi,
I use DC on my layout and I am happy with it. I can run 1-3 trains with 15 blocks and everything runs great. But I am looking into starting a modular group (HO) and I would like to use DCC for all its andvantages. I am currently looking into EasyDCC because of the MR articles and the low price. (Price & # of channels is most important to me) I would like to see what opinions people have for a system. I am only looking for DCC, other than the MRC because I don’t really like the limit of 10 channels. Are any systems walkaround only? This is more of what I am looking for, EasyDCC requires an entire set of componets to make it walkaround, and price is key.

I had an MRC unit and it worked just dandy for about 20 hours. Now it does nothing at all.
It is possible that a lighting strike burned out some diodes or something, but when I buy another one, it will be a different brand.
I will also have a very good surge protector!
Good luck!
Hi Kevin,
I use Easy DCC on my layout and I got mine through Discount Model Trains in Addison, TX. They happen to be an online merchant on this site. It’s a great system, and they are only one of two hobby shops in the world that stock Easy DCC and they sell it at a discount. They also carry the full line of Digitrax (they are having a special on Digitrax, if you buy any Digitrax system, you can get up to three extra throttles at half off at time of purchase). They also carry the new Atlas DCC system and the makers of Easy DCC (CVP Products) has adapted their wireless throttle to work with the Atlas DCC system. Try e-mailing or call Discount Model Trains, their staff all use DCC and are very knowledegable.
I use EasyDCC and I love it. Most of the guys I operate with are Digitrax users but I still prefer my EasyDCC. The wireless system on EasyDCC is probably the best on the market (I am sure I will get arguments about that statement). As I have used EasyDCC, Digitrax, Lenz, MRC, and NCE I feel I can make that statement based on personal use of all the systems.
If you need additional details either call the hobby shop in Texas as suggested or call CVP directly and they will be happy to help answer your questions.

Did you note that you are replying to thread that is many years old?
If there is anyway you can try out some systems before making your purchase then I would recommend that. Perhaps a local hobby shop, club layout, fellow modelers personal home layout? I was fortunate to be able to try a few of the more well known systems out before I made my purchase and it definitely was helpful in making my decision. Btw, none of the systems I tried out was bad. But the one I went with (NCE) best suited my current and future needs.
Good luck!
Happy Modeling!

LOL…[:^)]…nope! Must remember to read dates…[(-D]
I was just wondering,if that hobby shop that Tschwarz, was referring to was still in business,121/2 yrs. later.

My goodness, I wonder where the “anonymous” OP is now…
