I working with DCC for the first times and have an interesting issue. On some, not all, of the Atlas, Code 55, #5 Turnouts, my Atlas RS-1 pauses, sits a second and then starts again. The headlight goes out when it pauses. The same locomotive ran fine when it was straight DC. I did not wire the frogs as the locomotive ran fine on DC and I assumed the wheelbase was long enough.

I have the same problem on one of my SD40-2s in HO scale. It only happens on one turnout and this is the only train that does it. I know what is wrong with mine, I only pick current up on one wheelset at a time. I know that dont sound right so this is what I did. I pick up left rail from the front truck and right rail from the rear. I did not know this would happen but I know what caused it so I just have to go back and make the train pick up current on both rails at both trucks. So I would say check to see that you have pickup on all wheels.
