dcc power supply?

I am still fairly new to Dcc and I have the digitrax empire builder on my layout.

To power it I use a 3 year old MRC Tech 4 220 transformer.
This seems to be fine when I run say one locomotive on the layout but I usually run at least 3, like my WP F3ABB set. By the time I get 3, 4 locomotives on there, it really sucks the power down.

So my question is should I buy a power supply like the Digitrax PS515 to get more power, or would that not help my situation?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You need more power. Take a look at Tony’s and Loy’s for options.

Yes, absolutely. That MRC, while a good transformer, just wasn’t designed to handle the load you’re putting on it.
