I want to replace the original DC board with DCC board, with a replacement Digitrax DH165A0 DCC decoder board for my HO Bachmann Acela trainset locomotive. How will I wire this DCC replacement board to my locomotive?

If I understand you correctly, you wish to wire in a socket, and then drop in the DH165LO? If that is the case, you need to purchase a female 8 pin socket. Then you need to wire up the 8 pin socket to NMRA standards. This will then allow you to plug in your DH165LO.

The “drop in” decoder replaces the lightboard, you don’t install it and then plug the decoder into it. The new ‘light board’ IS the decoder.
