DCC sound decoders (besides QSI) that operate sound in DC/analog mode ?????

Are there any DCC sound decoders (besides QSI) that can operate sound in DC/analog mode ???

READ the Specs. QSI now has some competition - and don’t expect competing systems to work and sound the same.QSI’s DC ‘Engineer’, for example.

Yes, in no particular order.

ESU LokSound

MRC

Soundtraxx Tsunami

Digitrax

Thanks Guys,

I read some of the specs. They say they will operate in Analog mode but didn’t specifically say the sound will work. Also, do they than provide a method to activate certain sounds like QSI does?

(maybe I should just wait for QSI or go DCC)

The tsunami from soundtraxx does work with sound on DCC but different controllers can cause the chuff synch to go out depending on what pulse etc they use.
I haven’t seen any other DC sound control boxes except on the Mountain model inports On30 K series locos, (and that works so poorly I only use them on DCC)

A Loksound, QSI or Tsunami decoder is most of the cost of a DCC starter system. The Digitrax Zephyr for example will run you about $150 online. You might want to use your decoder money to buy DCC and then save up for nice decoders after that so you can fully enjoy them.

you flip the switch on your power pack while it is in motion.

Digitrax is good! I have it in my BNSF AC4400CW and it sounds great! And its only 70 bucks! (Price depends on where you get it)
