DCC&Sound to a KATO

Does anybody help me about how to put DCC&sound to a HO KATO SD90/43MAC?. Thanks

Yep, The katos have a 8-pin plug. I reccomend a LokSound decoder for around 100-112 dollars. All you have to do is plug it in. The speaker is pre-attached, so just mount it in the included cap, and mount it on the roof inside ( under the fans ), or in he feul tank if your engine is speaker frendly.

It really depends on you’r skill level. You have a few options in terms of the decoder. You can hard whire it in involving sodering or using a decoder with a plug such a the MRC or LoKSound decoder. Both are good options. For speaker placement you can put it in the fule tank it it is sound friendly and if not you can mill or cut it out another option is to replace you’r exaust fans with the see through versions. If you decide to go with the fule tank option make shure you put a fine screne or tissue across the speaker because if not the magnet inside will suck up all the metal on or around your’r tarack causing distortion.

I recommend Loksound as well, the easiest place to put the speaker is in the cab. You can put it under the cowls in the rear, but that would take some serious modification of the shell. You can also put it in the fuel tank but you will have to mill it out first.

Its how I installed a sound decoder and speaker into my own Kato SD70Mac. Close enough to your engine. I used a soundtraxx decoder and speakers from Tonys train exchange and did it all for less than 70 dollars. It sounds great too! Loksound is much more expensive, probably sounds a little better too. Its up to you.
