DCS 4.0 RUNS TMCC?

I read somewhere that the dcs upgrade will run tmcc engines from the dcs remote. Is this true, how does it work? Do you need any extra components? Does the dcs system automatically recognize the tmcc engine? Anyone hear whether or not mth will soon come out with an upgrade to run legacy functions on the dcs hand held?

DCS always ran TMCC equipment. With version 4 it allows you to run lashups as well as access the greater speed steps offered in K-Lines cruise as well as EOB.

All you need is a Lionel command base and a cable supplied by MTH to link the base and TIU. The Lionel base is still issuing the commands to the engines. The DCS system is just issuing the commands to the base.

To run a TMCC engine you need to enter into the remote. You can do this watching TV if you have many to do. Go to the menu and find Add TMCC engine. You will be asked to enter a name. Scroll through the letters and numbers and name the engine.

Example, B&A HUDSON #608 You will confirm the engine and then you must enter the TMCC engine number. If you are using Cab 1. This is the number you press to run that engine. If you are running multiple TIU’s. You then must assign that engine to the TIU that has the Lionel base hooked to it. After that you access the engine using basically 1 button pushes for startup and volume and such.
