I need to reset my TIU acccording to the handheld remote. Hit emergency stop to keep from having a wreck and now I lost the TIU capability. I tried reset on the handheld and that didn’t take.
What do I need to do now?

Turn the power off to the TUI for at least 30 seconds. The power it up again. It will be reset. Also trun off your remote for the same amount of time, turn it back on.
Thanks Spankybird!
I will try that and let you know how things go tomorrow or the next day.

I think in another thread you mentioned you thought you would need to reenter all the information in the AIU as a result of hitting the Emergency Stop. (switches/accessories). I am certain if you follow the direction that Spankybird provided you will be fine.
I have used the Emergency Stop a number of time, and no problem. Just power down the entire system, and the remote and you will be fine.
DCS works by placing a TIU (Track Interface Unit) between the Power Supply and the track. The Handheld Remote radios your command to that TIU, the TIU then sends the locomotive’s address followed by that command through the track to that engine. Locomotive information remains in both unless you upgrade software in the TIU & Remote. (latest software will retain the data)
When you press the “Emergency Stop” button on the Handheld Remote, you drop the power relay in the TIU removing all power from the track. (use it for a quick stop to prevent an accident or to shut down power during a derailment).
Reset:
Remove Input power from the TIU (pull the input plug on the TIU or turn off the Power Supply)
Turn Off the Handheld Remote.
Reapply power to the TIU, and turn on the Handheld Remote.
Sometimes you may need to press the “Read” button on the Handheld Remote.
Here’s what I did or found out that I did; I hit factory reset and had to re-enter all info back into the TIU. So if I get a message to reset again I will know what to do.
Thanks for the help guys!
