I just tried to update myDCS system with 3.11 from 3.10 and the serial connection would not recognize the com location. I did reset the remote and TIU as per the upgrade instructions. This is not the problem. When I rewired the system back up to my layout it will not recognize any of the MTH engines. Anyone who has any info on how to rectify this problem I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks
Big T:
Please be more specific about the trouble. I assume that when you try to add the engine that the remote does not find them. If so, have you done the regular routine (check battery, check power to track, check other connections, check that track/rollers/wheels are not dirty)? How many engines cannot be found? Can you add TMCC engines?

Big T,
If you experienced a problem with the download as you stated above you probably have a corrupted download - you need to start completely over with the entire download process.
If you have a serial coms problem - you need to solve that first. There are some USB-to-serial converters for newer PCs (that do not have a serial port) that do not work for DCS downloads because they do not support all the two way RS-232 handshaking required for the DCS loader to work.
Have you done a download before and are you using the exact same PC and serial port?
Basically I have corrected the problem for some reason the downlaod put the DCS system in hang up so I just reset the entire thing without wny track connections only power to the system. I then rewired teh entire system to the layout and whoola eveything back to normal. Yes apparently the USB to Serial does not work with the download and apparently I will need to do somehting with the BIOS in my computer (I am not a programmer so I have no idea what the BIOS is). Someone (cannot remember the name) posted an articel to MTH’s web site indicating these problems with the COM ports and USB. Anyway thanks to all who responded. I sure hope MTH gets this straightened out. DCS no cheap and would be nice to be able to use laptops with USB to ugrade when new versions come out.
