DCS Question

Just how hard is it to run any 3-rail O scale locomotive with a DCS system?

Somewhere between running a conventional train and using your computer.

The hook up of the system is different you need to use the variable voltage port on your track interface unit. I have not used alot of different brands of trains but i have run proto 1 engines using DCS which should be alot like running a conventional engine. I find it somewhat difficult but it can be done. To fully realize the potential of the DCS system you need to use it with proto 2 engines.

Easy

That’s EASY for you to say

EASY. If an old goat like me can make it work it right out of the box, so can you. It’s very user friendly and the OGR video is a must have to insure success.

The variable voltage outputs on the TIU are not the systems strong point. You have a pretty high starting voltage and a 180 watt limit per channel. If you want remote throttle capability, a Z-4000 and Remote Commander may be easier to use.
